Ashford Republican Platform

We Believe . . Gone are the days when towns like Ashford could look to state government to solve our problems. Why? Because in today’s Connecticut, state government IS our biggest problem!

The budget crisis created by the Governor and his Democratic legislative leaders is totally artificial and unnecessary. Their thinly disguised attempt at income redistribution is wrecking havoc with the ability of small towns to afford local services people need. Our schoolchildren, seniors, and low-income families will suffer if we cannot protect them from Hartford’s social tinkering.

We Further Believe . . Republicans are in the best position to guide Ashford through tough times. Our natural instinct to protect the rights of the individual, conserve town budgets, and keep a lid on taxes is exactly what people are demanding. We invite you to get to know our candidates. And we ask for your support in November. Thank you.
