Interested and committed citizens are always needed to serve in Ashford town government. Positions range from a variety of boards and commission elected in November of odd-numbered years, to representative positions appointed by the Board of Selectmen.

The Republican Party is proud of the quality of our candidates and officials who volunteer to serve in public office. Interested Republicans should contact William Falletti, Chairman of the Republican Town Committee, to volunteer for public office. Candidates for elected boards and commissions are chosen at a party caucus held no later than July 30 in the summer of a municipal election year. Connecticut state law limits the number of seats a political party can hold to guarantee representation for the major parties.  As examples, on a board of six members the maximum number one party may hold is four; on a board of three members the maximum is two.
